We are pleased to be a 2024 Building Awareness Champion!
During Internal Audit Awareness Month in May, we shared our passion for internal auditing, promoting the profession through a variety of events and campaigns designed to inform and engage, raise awareness, and help stakeholders understand the value of internal audit in their organizations.

The IIA is pleased to partner with Becker to make earning your Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation more accessible for Canadian members.
Through this partnership, members can take advantage of:
Whether you're beginning your CIA journey or pursuing the Challenge Exam, this partnership provides the resources and support you need to achieve your professional goals.

Welcome to the IIA Toronto Chapter.
It is an honour and privilege to serve as President of one of the largest and most vibrant communities of internal audit professionals in North America. As the profession continues to evolve in response to emerging risks, rapid technological advancement, and increasing stakeholder expectations, our Chapter remains committed to supporting members at every stage of their professional journey.
The IIA Toronto Chapter exists to advance the internal audit profession by delivering exceptional professional development opportunities, fostering meaningful connections, promoting thought leadership, and helping develop the next generation of audit and risk professionals.
Our vision is clear: to be Canada's most influential professional community for internal auditors and a trusted partner for members, employers, academic institutions, and the broader governance community.
Over the past year, we have seen tremendous momentum across our Chapter. Member participation has grown significantly, attendance at our flagship events has reached record levels, and engagement from volunteers, sponsors, and partners continues to strengthen. These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our Board, committees, volunteers, and members who generously contribute their time, expertise, and passion to our profession.
As we look ahead, our strategic priorities are focused on four key themes:
We are also placing a renewed emphasis on innovation, emerging technologies, and the evolving role of internal audit in helping organizations navigate uncertainty and create value. Through conferences, webinars, certification programs, networking events, and volunteer opportunities, we aim to provide members with practical insights, meaningful connections, and opportunities to grow as leaders.
Whether you are a student exploring a career in internal auditing, a new practitioner building your professional foundation, or an experienced executive seeking to advance the profession, there is a place for you within the IIA Toronto Chapter. I encourage you to make this the year you become more involved, whether by attending an event, pursuing your CIA designation, volunteering with one of our committees, mentoring a future auditor, or simply introducing yourself at your next Chapter event. Together, we will continue building a stronger profession and an even stronger IIA Toronto community.
I look forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming events.
Warm regards,
Janne Farias
President
