Dear Global IIA Leadership, Sister Chapters, and Tallahassee Members & Colleagues
As I step into the role of President of the IIA Tallahassee Chapter (TCIIA), I am deeply honored to lead this vibrant community of internal audit professionals.
Our profession is undergoing a profound evolution. As we navigate this dynamic landscape, our focus is clear: to champion global excellence right here in Florida’s capital while actively strengthening our global auditing community. Whether you are a local member, a peer chapter leader from across the globe, or a member of our Global IIA leadership team, you are a vital part of our journey.
Addressing Our Global and Local Communities
"To our Global President and Board, and our sister chapters around the world: Tallahassee stands ready to collaborate, share best practices, and uphold the highest standards of our profession. To our local members: we are dedicated to providing you with the tools, credentials, and network to thrive on any stage."
Our Strategic Priorities for the Year Ahead
Building upon our strong foundation, the Tallahassee Chapter is committed to three core pillars designed to empower our members and elevate our impact across the city and throughout the State of Florida:
1. Mastering the New Global Internal Audit Standards
The rollout of the new Global Internal Audit Standards is more than a regulatory shift—it is an opportunity to elevate our strategic value.
- Our Action: We will host peer-to-peer roundtable discussions and meetings to enhance and help members understand the Topical Requirements.
- Our Goal: To ensure every Tallahassee auditor is not just compliant but leading the way in applying these standards to drive organizational resilience.
2. Accelerating CIA Certification
The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation is the global benchmark for excellence. This year, we are placing a premium on helping our local professionals cross the finish line.
- Our Action: We will continue to host the CIA Champions Program, which will expand our support for all TCIIA Chapter members.
- The Goal: To significantly increase the roster of CIA certificate holders in our Chapter, proving that Tallahassee talent meets world-class standards.
3. Delivering World-Class, Future-Focused Training
In a rapidly changing risk landscape, continuous learning is non-negotiable. Our Chapter is committed to providing cutting-edge, practical professional education that keeps our members up to date on current topics and ahead of the curve.
- Our Action: We will deliver a diverse curriculum of high-quality training sessions focused not only on core audit skills, but also on emerging risk areas like AI governance, cybersecurity, and fraud prevention.
- The Goal: To equip our members with the advanced skills and knowledge needed to remain indispensable, forward-thinking, trusted advisors to their agencies and organizations.
Join Us in Shaping the Future
To our local members, I encourage you to dive in, volunteer for a Committee or Board position, attend our events, and challenge yourself to grow. To our global peers and leaders, we welcome your insights and look forward to collaborating with you.
Together, let us embrace the challenges of this historic year with enthusiasm, dedication, and a shared commitment to excellence.
Thank you for your trust, your passion, and your continued dedication to the internal audit profession. I look forward to a remarkable year of growth and shared success.
