Implementing The IIA’s New Cybersecurity Topical Requirement

Format: Online

The introduction of Topical Requirements, the latest addition to the International Professional Practices Framework® (IPPF®), aims to standardize audit methodologies across all internal audit functions, regardless of size or sector. This roundtable will focus on the first of these requirements, the Cybersecurity Topical Requirement, set to be released in February 2025.

In this session, participating internal audit leaders will:

  • Discuss the specifics of The IIA’s new Cybersecurity Topical Requirement, including governance, risk management, and control processes.
  • Understand how to address the necessary resources, including assessing internal auditors’ skill sets and possible training needs, to perform the topical requirement or engage qualified third-party resources.
  • Explore strategies for engaging senior management and the board in cybersecurity governance.
  • Share best practices for documenting conformance with the new topical requirement and preparing for quality reviews, both internal and external.
  • Leverage lessons learned from organizations that have started implementing the new topical requirement.

This Roundtable is an exclusive benefit only available to Audit Leaders Network Members. Audit Leaders Network provides access to essential relationships, professional development, and tailored resources for today’s leaders.
