Massimiliano Turconi, CIA

Massimiliano Turconi is the 2026-27 Director, Global Services & Advocacy on The IIA’s Global Board of Directors.

Massimiliano has spent the majority of his 30-year career in international environments, holding leadership positions across diverse sectors, including chemicals, food and beverage, and most recently, telecommunications. He has a proven track record of establishing foundations for group internal audit functions and leading large-scale transformational programs.

Prior to becoming Chief Audit Executive of TIM S.p.A., Massimiliano served as the CAE at Ferrero International. His background also includes serving as Senior Manager of Global Audit for Africa and the Middle East at Heineken International, along with various audit roles in other sectors.

Deeply committed to the evolution of the profession, Massimiliano is the Chairman of The European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing (ECIIA) and a Board and Executive Committee member of the Italian Chapter of The Institute of Internal Auditors (AIIA). On a broader scale, he has contributed to numerous international projects led by The IIA.

As a frequent speaker at universities, seminars, and conferences, he is passionate about advancing the profession and strengthening the global culture of corporate governance, risk, and control.

Massimiliano holds a degree from the University of Economics in Italy and began his career at Arthur Andersen.
