Global Vice Chair of Finance, 2026-27
Fabio Pimpão is the 2026-27 Global Vice Chair of Finance and previously served as the 2025-26 Director, Professional Certifications and Exam Development on the IIA’s Global Board of Directors. He also served in several roles with IIA Brasil, including Chair of the Board of Directors (2023-25), Vice Chair of the Board of Directors (2019-22), and Certifications and Standards Director. In addition, he was a member of the IIA’s Guidance Committee (2020–2021) and the International Internal Audit Standards Board (2021–2025).
Fabio has 20 years of experience in internal audit, governance, and risk management. As Director of Internal Audit at Whirlpool Corporation, he plays a key role in overseeing audit activities within a global corporate environment.
His career also includes extensive international experience, having worked for multinational companies such as American Axle & Manufacturing, where he spent six years across Mexico and the United States. He also oversaw the company’s Global Business SOX Compliance Program.
Fabio holds a degree in Business Administration, a postgraduate degree in Controllership, and an MBA in Business Management.
He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and holds certifications in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and Control Self-Assessment (CCSA).
