2025 Global Student Conference Recap
Empowering the Next Generation of Internal Auditors
The 2025 Global Student Conference, held April 13–15 at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, embraced the theme “The Next Gen of Internal Audit – Classroom to Career.” The event focused on bridging academic learning with professional practice, equipping students and educators with the tools, connections, and insights needed to succeed in internal auditing careers.
this year’s event brought together 186 students and educators from 65 schools across 19+ countries – including several distinguished Internal Audit Awareness (IAA) and Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) institutions—attended this year’s event making it our most global and dynamic GSC to date.

Student Track Highlights
- Leadership insights and advice with IIA President and CEO Anthony Pugliese and North American Board Chair Elizabeth Sullivan
- Hands-on learning + Keynote session on AI in internal audit
- Roundtable discussions with industry leaders
- Sessions on career-readiness skills
Educator Track Highlights
- In-depth session led by one of the authors of the upcoming 6th edition of Internal Auditing: Assurance and Advisory Services, offering insights into key updates, enhancements, and classroom applications
- Engaging and thought-provoking sessions on integrating AI and emerging technologies into the classroom
- Practical strategies for expanding internal audit curriculum
- Collaborative exchanges on best practices and innovative approaches to curriculum development
Case Competition Experience
The event featured the annual case competition, where all students gain hands-on experience completing an audit and presenting their findings to a panel of judges.
