The Challenge Exam is currently aligned with the 2017 International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and includes study materials.
There are only two more opportunities to utilize the included study materials and take this version of the exam:
- November 2025
- February 2026

Effective 1 June 2026, the CIA Challenge Exam will be updated to align with the new Global Internal Audit Standards™.

Previously included study materials will not be updated and will therefore no longer be relevant after February 2026.

Candidates will need to purchase new study materials separately in order to prepare effectively for the June 2026 exam.
