The IIA Issues Statement of Support on the Senate Agriculture Committee’s Digital Asset Market Structure Discussion Draft

LAKE MARY, FL (November 13, 2025) – Anthony J. Pugliese, CIA, CPA, CGMA, CITP – President and Chief Executive Officer of The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) – released the following statement regarding the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry’s bipartisan digital asset market structure draft:

“The IIA applauds Chairman John Boozman and Ranking Member Cory Booker for their leadership in developing a comprehensive, bipartisan proposal to strengthen digital commodity markets.

“Building on the foundation established by the CLARITY Act, the discussion draft acknowledges the importance of internal audit in promoting sound governance and effective risk management at digital commodity exchanges. Sections 204 and 205, in particular, advance critical investor protections that enhance transparency, accountability, and trust across this rapidly evolving marketplace.

“The IIA looks forward to continued engagement with congressional leaders from both parties to help ensure this critical legislation advances and is passed into law.”
